2010 Hamilton Family Reunion
On July 25th many of the descendents of George Hamilton met in Missouri for a great family reunion. At last count there were 91 family members that attended the reunuion. We met at the Little Red School House in Clearmont on Friday evening.
Friday evening supper
On Friday evening we enjoyed a delicious supper provided by our Missouri cousins. We enjoyed talking like true Hamiltons.
Hamilton's visiting
Lucille Hamilton Vansickle is the daughter of Arthur and Bea Hamilton.
Sue Hamilton is the wife of Bob Hamilton, Lucille's brother.

This is Joseph Hamilton the second son of James Elmer Hamilton who is the son of Joseph S. Hamilton the first child of George and Mary Hull.

George Hamilton's Home in Elmo
George Hamilton and family lived here. The home was then owned by Arthur and Bea Hamilton who lived here many years. Steve and Judy Snodderley continued the family ownership and now their daughter Brooke and husband Ryan Kinsella live here. They hosted the Saturday evening gathering of Hamiltons. It was a pleasure to be at this lovely home with its huge trees and beautiful grounds and great family history. Thanks Brooke and Ryan!

We had a great time getting to know each other better. It was a beautiful evening after a very rainy day.

Fowler Hamilton's Grandchildren

Sisters
Katrina Thernell and Annie Lindquist are the daughters of Keith Phillips. They traveled from California to attend the reunion. It was fun to meet them and share the Hamilton family history with them.

Alex and Sharon
Sharon is the wife of Keith Phillips and Alex is her son. Alex isn't a Hamilton but he really enjoyed the reunion. He met and learned a lot about the Hamilton Family in a couple of days. Thanks for coming, Alex!
Ethel and Cathy
Ethel Phillips is the wife of Dick Phillips. We owe her many, many thanks for all the work she did on the reunion. We love and appreciate you Ethel.
Cathy is the daughter of Bob and Norma Thompson. The granddaughter of Athalia Hamilton.

June is the daughter of Athalia and Robert Thompson. We love having June at our reunions and I know June enjoys coming.

1970 John Deere Tractor
This tractor is the pride and joy of Gary Ecker. He recently had the tractor repainted and he takes it to shows around the area.
Gary bought the tractor new in 1970.
Elmo, Missouri
So many of us Hamiltons have family members who were born and raised in Elmo, Missouri.
Joyce Ecker says she is the only one that has lived in Elmo all of her life.
Methodist Church in Elmo, Missouri
Many of our Hamilton relatives have attended church here. Our Sunday sermon was preached by Dick Phillips.
Getting a lift at church
June Hansen and her grandchildren, Hannah and Josiah used this lift to get to church.
Elmo Park Shelter
The Hamilton Family donated funds at our 2004 reunion to build this shelter. A Boy Scout earned his Eagle Scout award by pouring concrete to complete the upgrading of the shelter.
Brunch after Church
Our Missouri cousins treated us to brunch after church on Sunday. Thanks Bonnie and Maxine and all who provided a yummy brunch.
We did a bit more talking before heading for home.
New Friends
Marsha Collins and Lucille Vansickle
Marsha is a descendant of James Alexander Hamilton the second child of George and Mary Hamilton. We are happy to meet you Marsha and have a representative of this family.
Fire Extingushers in the church kitchen
These fire extingushers were placed in the church kitchen in the 1960's by my Grandfather, Frank Hamilton. I was surprised to see they are still watching over the kitchen.
High Prarie Cemetery
Hamilton Family members visited the High Prarie Cemetery where many of our ancestors are buried.
Grave Marker for Arthur and Beatrice Hamilton
Look closely and you will recognize the house of Arthur and Bea Hamilton as the same house where we had our reunion supper. Dale Vansickle the grandson of Art and Bea and the son of Andrew Edward and Lucille Hamilton Vansickle did the art work on this monument to his grandparents. It is beautiful!
George W. Hamilton
George W. Hamilton is buried in High Prarie Cemetery in Elmo, Missiouri.
Mary Hull Hamilton is buried in College Springs, Iowa a few miles north of Elmo.
Flora Clark Hamilton is buried in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
